Our 4 day Basic differs from other schools that offer a 5 day course. Why? Many people are experimenting with the cruising environment for the first time. It is a compact, foreign ,challenging environment that requires consideration for others and some sacrifice of personal space. Our 4 day Sat-Tuesday format will provide all the CYA required basic training that leaves nothing out. After Basic, if the marine environment is for you, then, by all means, consider the 5 day Intermediate course for a longer cruise-training experience. And you will know what to expect.

BOOKING POLICY
A 30% deposit is required for booking. The 70% balance is due one month prior to cruise departure date. If you need to cancel for any reason. we would retain the 30% deposit, but if the 70% had been paid, it would be refunded. Basic Itinerary
Stay on board the night before the course, sail from Gibsons harbour to Gambier Island, Bowen Island, and return. Sail in the safe inside waters of Howe Sound.
Intermediate/Bareboat Itinerary
We sail from Gibsons Harbour, 16 miles across the Straight of Georgia, to anchorage or marinas in Degnan Bay, Montague Harbour, Telegraph Harbour, and Newcastle Island in the Gulf islands. These sheltered channels and harbours are ideal for training and cruising. Each day's sailing is carefully planned to take account of tides and weather.
PREREQUISITES
While there are no prerequisites for Basic Level training, you will need to study the Cruise and Learn manual before sailing, and have no serious mobility or health issues.
